Privacy Policy

MenuPath is designed to respect your privacy. We collect the minimum data necessary to run the app and never sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you set up MenuPath, you provide preferences such as household size, dietary style, cooking time, and budget. This information is stored locally on your device and is used only to generate your meal plans.

Information collected automatically

MenuPath does not collect analytics or usage data at this time. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated and you will be notified.

Recipe data

Recipe searches and meal plan generation are powered by the Spoonacular API. When you search for a recipe, your search query is sent to Spoonacular's servers. Spoonacular's own privacy policy governs how they handle this data. We do not store your search history.

2. How we use your information

Your preferences are used exclusively to:

  • Generate personalized weekly meal plans
  • Build your grocery list
  • Customize the app experience to your household and diet

We do not use your information for advertising profiling, do not share it with third-party marketers, and do not sell it.

3. Third-party services

MenuPath integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Instacart — grocery ordering handoff. When you tap "Order on Instacart," you are redirected to the Instacart app or website. Instacart's own privacy policy governs your activity there. Instacart Privacy Policy
  • Chicory — recipe commerce integration. Chicory powers the "Shop this recipe" feature, which allows you to send recipe ingredients directly to a retailer cart. Chicory may collect anonymized usage data related to recipe interactions. Chicory Privacy Policy
  • Google AdMob — in-app advertising. MenuPath displays ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads in accordance with their policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google Privacy Policy
  • Edamam — recipe data provider. Recipe search and meal plan data is retrieved from the Edamam Recipe API. No personal data is transmitted to Edamam. Edamam Privacy Policy

4. Data storage

Your meal preferences and grocery lists are stored locally on your device. MenuPath does not operate a backend server and does not store your data in the cloud.

5. Children's privacy

MenuPath is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at the email below.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
